The Power Of Thought

THE POWER OF THOUGHT

The power of thought has the ability to bring you anything you have ever wanted, if you truly believe. I’ve had it work for me in just about every aspect of my life, whether it is the smallest of things like getting the perfect car space to a more major thing like getting your dream house.

A great simple example of this for me was on the weekend when I was flying home to Brisbane from Perth on a red eye flight. The flight was my only chance to sleep with a busy day just gone and another busy day planned for the next. To make my sleep on the plane a little more comfortable I thought it would be great to have no-one sitting next to me so I could stretch out a little. So to make this happen I started thinking “I’m going to have plenty of room to sleep on the plane” and repeated that thought and visualized stretching out on the plane a number of times before getting on the plane.

When I got on the plane I started to notice that there was quite a lot of people and the plane was filling up fast, however I kept pushing the thought through my head “I’m going to have plenty of room to sleep on the plane”. Then to my delight the flight attendant made the announcement, “Thank you all for boarding so quickly, all passengers are now on board” and I had a whole row to myself to lie down and stretch out as much as I liked while most of the plane was full.

Some of you might think well that’s no big deal, but I think it is, it was something very small but it worked I asked for something and the universe delivered. This has not just worked for me on silly small things like getting room to sleep on a plane, but for many other big things as well like getting good grades at university. At the start of my course I set the goal to achieve a GPA above 6.0/7.0 for an Engineering degree, I visualized getting this several times during my four year degree, worked hard and I got a GPA of 6.05/7.0. I achieved my goal, now I probably could of got a GPA of 7.0/7.0 but that’s not what I visualized, I suppose if that’s want I wanted I should have been specific and visualized it.

BE SPECIFIC WITH WHAT YOU WANT

Being specific when visualizing is very important, you can visualize that you want a Lamborghini or your favourite car and more than likely you’ll start seeing more of them around the place, but not one in your garage. However if you want one in your garage as yours to own and drive, you have to start off with that thought, and if you truly believe that you will own that car and I guarantee the opportunity will eventually come along and if you take action I have no doubt you will get it. We’ll go through this a bit more another day.

In the meantime I would like to share with you an extract out of book I was given as a gift called “A Teaspoon of Courage” by Bradley Greive

“ Stand tall and march proudly toward your goals and dreams with your shoulders squared and your head held high. Barriers that seemed insurmountable will become surmountable, maybe even a piece of cake.

This may not happen in the wink of an eye. In fact, it might take days, weeks, months – who knows?

The landscape of our lives Is vast and varied.

But as long as you are moving forward, if only by centimeters, it doesn’t matter what lies in front of you. You will get where you are going in the end.”
